Reply with quote | #1 | A few years ago I had a vision of community work that was so amazing, I have never experienced anything like it before or since. The experience was so powerful that it shook me to the core of my being. However, I let go of it because I have programmed myself to see the glass half empty and to believe that I am unworthy of realising my dreams. In signing up to this prosperity experiment, I have been inspired to take a look at this dream again and so because it involved an actual place, yesterday I went in search of it. I ride a motorcycle and so I rode for a while in the direction of the vision but nothing came to mind and nothing 'appeared' on the road. I became disheartened and rode home thinking negative thoughts about the state of the world and even death. A moment later a pigeon flew in front of me and was struck by the bike's wing mirror, dislodging it. I stopped to fix the mirror back in place, emerged a thought of regret about the plight of the bird and rode back home thinking nothing more of it. Today, I read the material from last Thursday or Friday and decided for the first time to take a look at the forum and complete the survey. At the point of registering, a question came to me: "that incident with the pigeon; was it some sort of precognition or did I draw the event to myself through my negative thinking?" The truth is I don't know, but it was a powerful experience that got me considering what it is I actually think about all day. Could it be that my destiny is linked to my thoughts but at the moment, that destiny appears out of my control simply because I let every thought through without screening and careful consideration of the possible future consequences of such thoughts? It made me realise that it is important to wake up and be aware of what is going on in the mind and choose only those thoughts that are positive and empowering |

Reply with quote | #2 | Bless you - what a lovely shared expression. I have sometimes looked for external signs - thinking I see them or sometimes thinking not. Sometimes knowing that this is foretold, or as it should be as it is part of the realisation of a dream or vision... I guess we only know when we look inside, and find our answer... Bless you again, and bless all dreamers - as in the words of dear John Lennon - you may say I'm a dreamer - but I'm not the only one... __________________ Gerrie

Reply with quote | #3 | do you remember where the spot was when the pidgeon hit your bike? Because I'm sorta thinking that if u look around in that spot you could find something about your vision. I felt atleast that thats how the story could go. You looking up and seeing what you wanted to see. |

Reply with quote | #4 | Hello Mick, Just reading your post now! For myself I tend to look at and see events and all the components as potential signs and/or lessons. Including what I call our creature teachers. For me there are no mistakes only lessons. Perhaps looking at all the elements of the event would give another view. Perhaps with different eyes. thank you for sharing Paula |

Reply with quote | #5 | Hello Mick,
In reading your post, I am reminded of what I do when something happens that "looks" negative. My mind's knee jerk reaction is to immediately find fault with something about me that might have caused this negative experience. I have to continually (and I mean continually) remind myself that there is no power greater than God, the Universe, Source, and if this is the case, then only positive and good can be the end result. In fact, I've got to go and do this for myself right now.
Many beloved blessings to you and all,
Anand-Sara |

Reply with quote | #6 | Hello Mick, Thank you very much for sharing your soul searching thoughts. Mick, here's a thought on the bump to the pigeon: Go with what is in your heart. The why will come to you when you least expect it. Remember, it's your journey. And to everyone else who posted their responses. Bless all of you! |

Hi Mick,
Nothing is accidental. Everything has a purpose and everything is beneficial. This is more or less the premise upon which the Blessings Project and the Prosperity Experiment is based. In my own life, I have found that when I try to analyze what is happening around me too much, I get stuck.
But when I just look around me with love and joy and react to whatever is happening by simply tell myself something to the effect of "How cool! This has got to be good!" then what happens is that life meets my expectations and is very, very good and I, not stuck in over-analyzing the current signs and wonders, can move on to the next sign and wonder which is always equally cool and equally good.
Signs and wonders are not for the purpose of grabbing our attention and holding it, but merely for keeping us headed in the direction of our good. And any time you let yourself be pulled forward by your dream instead of held back by your despair, you are headed in the right direction. The sign -- in this case the pigeon -- may have been for no reason than to keep you focused on gaining a new awareness of self, which is exactly what it did. How cool is that! Just trust that it is all good, Mick. It is very, very good.
Hope this helps,
Love, light and blessings,
Kate

Reply with quote | #8 | What a blessing to read all the messages. Adding to my journey. Seeing so many ways to "see".,many paths to the destination. For me the creature teacher Pigeon, is a symbol for returning home. Hitting the "rear" view mirror. Hmmm! Learning from what is behind us? using it to move into the now, . Letting go, taking the lessons onward and inward. Blessings for all, as all are blessings for me. Paula |

Reply with quote | #9 | Hi Mick,
Out of curiosity, I looked up the meaning of the pigeon as a totem animal. It also seems significant that it brought you the message of paying attention to the mirror...perhaps your way home is to go deeper into your Self.
Enjoy the read,
Love & Light - Anita
Pigeons originally lived on the wild cliff faces of the European and Asian seacoasts. Used by the Chinese for hundreds of years to send messages they also carried money exchange rates between banks in Canton and Hong Kong. Pigeons have been used extensively for delivering messages in times of war. Early navigators took pigeons to sea in hopes that, if they became lost the pigeon would show them the way to land. Pigeons can fly for 550 miles in one day and can travel in bursts of speed up to 60 knots. They teach us how to preserver and keep our focus on the goal at hand.
This amazing bird holds the qualities of home, security and maternal instincts. Those with this totem often experience unsettling childhood's and will be challenged continually to acquire a solid secure foundation in all areas of their lives. The pigeon assists us in finding the stability of home that has been lost.
No matter where pigeon ends up or how it gets there, it knows the way home. The Pigeons gift to us is the ability to accomplish. They do not get lost because they are in tune with the natural ways of earth, and are always aware of their goals. They use all their senses equally and navigate their lives in a balanced way. If Pigeon comes to you, it is asking you to keep your sights and sensitivities clearly set on where you want to be, and start moving. Even if you don’t know exactly how to get there, by following your inner guidance you can find your way.
